Co-Director of Christian Science Nursing

Peace Haven is seeking a consecrated and experienced Christian Science nurse to serve as Co-Director of Christian Science Nursing (Co-DCSN). This leadership role shares responsibility for guiding and supporting the Christian Science Nursing department in fulfilling its healing ministry.

 

Working in close collaboration with the Co-Director of Christian Science Nursing and reporting to the Executive Director, the Co-DCSN helps ensure the consistent delivery of Christian Science nursing care in alignment with the teachings of Christian Science and the standards set forth in the Manual of The Mother Church, and the Christian Science Nurse Scope of Services.

 

This role provides both spiritual and administrative leadership — supporting staff, strengthening the Christian Science Nurses Training program, and fostering an atmosphere conducive to healing.

 

Position Responsibilities May Include:

  • Providing spiritual leadership and support to Christian Science nursing staff and Christian Science Nursing Arts students

  • Helping to maintain the standard of the Christian Science Nurse Scope of Services

  • Supporting the oversight, development, and instruction within the Christian Science Nursing Arts training (CSNA) program at Peace Haven

  • Mentoring and nurturing the growth of Christian Science nurses, students, and supervisors

  • Assisting with staffing coordination, including onboarding and support of new and contract Christian Science nurses

  • Collaborating on departmental planning, scheduling, and operational needs

  • Supporting the development and delivery of in-services and Christian Science nurses' continuing education

  • Contributing to a peaceful, orderly, and healing environment throughout the facility

  • Participating in organizational leadership discussions and initiatives

  • Communicating effectively and compassionately with staff, patients, and families

 

Position Requirements Include:

  • Membership in The Mother Church

  • Membership in a Journal-listed branch Church of Christ, Scientist, or a Christian Science Society

  • Christian Science Class Instruction

  • Meets the requirements of Article VIII, Section 31, “Christian Science Nurse,” in the Manual of The Mother Church

  • Active practice as a Christian Science nurse in good standing

  • Demonstrated commitment to the healing ministry of Christian Science

  • Willing and able to support and uphold the Christian Science Nurse Scope of Services

  • Availability to work onsite in St. Louis, Missouri

  • Ability to collaborate closely with co-leadership and other departments

  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding organizational policies

 

Position Qualifications Include:

  • Listing as a Christian Science Nurse in The Christian Science Journal

  • Significant practical experience in Christian Science nursing

  • Demonstrated leadership ability with humility, love, and sound judgment

  • Ability to support others in developing their Christian Science nursing ministry with patience, clarity, and compassion

  • Experience in mentoring, supervising, or instructing others

  • Strong spiritual grounding and reliance on Christian Science healing

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Organizational and administrative capability

  • A heart for service and a desire to contribute to a healing environment
