Christian Science Nursing Arts Mentor and/or Instructor

NOTE: Peace Haven is willing to support training for those interested in mentoring without a CSNA background.

Reporting to a Co-Director of Christian Science Nursing, this position supports the growth and development of Christian Science Nursing Arts (CSNA) students through instruction, mentoring, or a combination of both. We are seeking one or more individuals who feel called to serve as a Christian Science Nursing Arts Mentor, Instructor, or Mentor/Instructor.

 

 Through classroom instruction and/or side-by-side mentoring, this role helps students develop practical wisdom appropriate to their level of training. This is accomplished through thoughtful discernment of individual needs and abilities, and through a consistent expression of love, patience, and dedication to the ministry of Christian Science nursing.

 

Position Responsibilities May Include:

  • Providing a structured environment for CSNA students in alignment with the Christian Science Nursing Arts curriculum

  • Offering one-on-one or small group mentoring in a variety of care settings

  • Assessing student progress and supporting their spiritual and practical growth

  • Collaborating with Christian Science Nursing leadership to support foundational training

  • Upholding and modeling the standards of Christian Science nursing in daily practice

 

 Position Requirements Include:

  • Membership in The Mother Church

  • Membership in a Journal-listed branch Church of Christ, Scientist, or a Christian Science Society

  • Christian Science Class Instruction

 

Position Qualifications Include:

  • Listing as a Christian Science Nurse in The Christian Science Journal

  • Meets the requirements of Article VIII, Section 31, “Christian Science Nurse,” in the Manual of The Mother Church

  • Instruction duties require a background in CSNA

  • A background in CSNA is preferable for Mentoring duties, however, Peace Haven is willing to support training for those interested in mentoring without a CSNA background

  • Demonstrates a commitment to practicing and mentoring in accordance with the standards of the Christian Science Nursing Arts program

  • Experience in a facility setting and in training, mentoring, and a broad range of Christian Science nursing activities strongly preferred
