Business Manager
Position Summary
Peace Haven is seeking a Business Manager to support our healing ministry through excellence in accounting, payroll, and administrative operations. This full-time, non-exempt position plays a key role in maintaining the financial integrity and business functions of the organization, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
The Business Manager oversees the payroll process, accounts payable and receivable, and records management; supports the annual audit process; and collaborates with department directors and Peace Haven’s outside accountant. This individual’s work directly supports the smooth and lawful operation of the organization and contributes to an atmosphere of peace and purpose that fosters healing.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and proactive—someone who loves numbers, appreciates systems, and values working in an environment where prayer and inspired thinking guide every aspect of daily work.
Position Requirements

Generates and processes biweekly payroll; issues 1099s; completes annual 403(b) census and related filings

Maintains payroll system and records; ensures accuracy of timecard submission and PTO accruals

Deposits incoming payments and donations, pays vendor invoices, and prepares patient monthly invoices; maintains QuickBooks register

Regularly reconciles accounts and supports the outside accountant with monthly and year-end reporting

Assists with annual audit preparation and insurance renewals
Position Qualifications

Active member of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts

Class-taught student of Christian Science

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business, or equivalent work experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks; familiarity with general ledger, account allocation, and payroll software helpful

Strong organizational and prioritization skills with attention to detail and accuracy
