Description

The question before us in these challenging times is “Why church?” Church brings us together for a holy purpose; collectively its members are a light for the world. Can a deeper understanding of God’s design for church help to heal the world? The Old Testament provides the first description of the structure of church, known as the tabernacle. Together, we will review the tabernacle symbols that are essential to understand for healing and church growth today. We will discuss Mary Baker Eddy’s favorite text, the First Commandment (S&H 340:16), and explore the Psalmist’s statement “thy law is the truth” (Ps. 119:142). Finally, we will consider the importance of understanding God as divine Love in our practice of Christian Science and in our church activities.
