BUILDING PROJECT

With great joy, gratitude, and humility we moved into our new facility in February 2021, fully paid for with the generous contributions of friends near and far. Throughout each part of the demonstration we cherished Mary Baker Eddy's passage, "He opens the petals of a holy purpose in order that the purpose may appear" (Science and Health 506:20). This new facility is a testament to the prayers, donations, and countless hours of work that were selflessly given by Christian Scientists who love and value Christian Science nursing. It is truly a testament to the power of a right idea. Now that we are in our new space, it is like we never left. The same perpetual peace of God's love is felt everywhere. Our new surroundings cause us to reflect on the dedicated work and consecrated prayers by so many since Peace Haven's inception. It is a blessing that continues to this day.

INSPIRATION

Peace Haven’s new facility design was inspired by reflecting on the following:

  • How can we provide the best care for our patients through beauty, comfort, inspiration, and practicality?

  • What does it mean to fulfill the healing mission of Christian Science and the Manual of The Mother Church (Article VIII Section 31) for Christian Science nursing?

  • What should the structure look like within “the structure of Truth and Love” and how is it resting upon divine Principle?

  • The definition of Church in our textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, 583:12

  • How does Peace Haven support the Christ-like atmosphere enveloping for our patients, residents, staff, and community?

  • What does this structure symbolize in our greater community, including to our neighbors?

Working out from a metaphysical basis as we reflected on these concepts, our new building has unfolded and continues to develop each day.

INSIDE THE DESIGN PROCESS

Light and Soul-filled beauty will define the feeling from the first moment one enters the lobby. The new facility will be updated and welcoming, and, best of all, it is designed for the specific purpose of providing our patients with a comfortable and joyous, home-like environment. Easy patient accessibility to every amenity was a driving principle in the design process. Centralized systems will make it easier to control the overall environment of the building.
