Peace Haven is pleased to offer “Comfort’s Art – a free one-day seminar exploring the spiritual basis of Christian Science nursing and its practical application and role in supporting Christian Science healing.

This free workshop is open to all branch church members and is held at our St. Louis facility from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm (lunch provided) on Saturday, October 28. Registration is required.

To register or to find out more information, please contact Penny Swank, Director of Christian Science Nurses Training at csna@PeaceHavenAssociation.org, or at 314.965.3833 ext 590.

What will this workshop cover?

  • A thoughtful discussion of the Manual of The Mother Church By-Law, “Christian Science Nurse” and its relevance to all members of The Mother Church.
  • A deep exploration of the Bible and writings of Mary Baker Eddy for references to and accounts of nursing and inspired care.
  • A review of the history of Christian Science nursing and its essential role in spiritual healing and maintaining “… the dignity and defense of our Cause;…” (Mis 148).
  •  Instruction and practice in basic skills for assisting a loved one with mobility needs, simple food preparation, and giving comfort.

Who will benefit from this workshop? Care Committees, Usher Committees, individuals interested in a Christian Science nursing career, those wanting to assist family members and friends, and anyone who would like to help others in a practical way.

Here’s what a couple of recent workshop attendees had to say:

” I wasn’t prepared to be so ‘touched’ through and through with the entire workshop.”

“My key takeaway is that following the Manual bylaw means we are all supposed to nurse in our own God-directed way. I love this insight.”

WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOU JOIN US AT PEACE HAVEN FOR OUR NEXT “COMFORT’S ART” SEMINAR ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2017!  BE SURE TO REGISTER.
